My favorite BBQ joint

Fox Brothers BBQ
1238 Dekalb Ave.
Atlanta, GA 30307
404.557.4030

Price Range:$$

Type of food: BBQ

We love to eat at Fox Brothers BBQ. I can't think of anything I have eaten here that I didn't love. They have some of the best BBQ I have ever had. Fried pickles to amazing mac & cheese get here early because this place fills up fast. Prices are good but a great way to save some cash is to share a 3 meat for 16.95 or  the Everything plate for 22.95.  You also get to choose 2 of their amazing sides. Veggie plates are available as well. We typically choose to share the 3 meat plate and each pick a side. This is plenty of food for two and we usually have trouble eating all of it.

Service: Has always been good and there seems to be a pleasant mood amongst the staff.

Comments: Great food, wear a belt incase your button breaks.

Rathbun's (Fine Dining)

Type of Restaurant

112 Krog Street, Ste R
Atlanta, Georgia 30307
404.524.8280

Price Range: $$$

Type of food: Modern American

Wines or Special drinks: Anything you could possibly want.

Food: The food is great, and it's easy to find something on the menu no matter what mood you are in.

Impressions: I loved the space and atmosphere it had great lighting and a good vibe to it. One thing to consider is that when one of our hometown boys beats Bobby Flay on the hit culinary show Iron Chef the food has got to be fantastic.

Atmosphere:  Located in a rehabbed industrial space of the former stove works, Rathbun's adds a touch of flavor to Krog street that was needed. A great space with high ceilings, exposed brick and great booths.  There is buzz in the main dining room that looks high end yet feels very casual, divided by a great bar and huge red lanterns. You also have the option of a quieter dining experience, Ask about the wine room with a hugh wall wine bottles, or their covered patio.

Service: Service is generally gracious and pleasant.

Comments: Great place for a date. New American menu using seasonal ingredients is great for varying budgets and appetites.

Budgeting Tip: Eat at home a drive up for a desert plate. You get to pick from a large list including the Chefs daily creations. The deserts range from, 5.95 for an  individual,  3 deserts for 11.00, or the best deal!!! 4 deserts for 12.00
